Hey folks! Welcome to this quick tutorial on configuring the settings for the new LM Studio update. Let's dive right in and get your server ready for the latest version of Private Content Wizard.

Step 1: Update LM Studio

First things first, make sure you're running the latest version of LM Studio. The current version you should be using is 0.2.31. This is a significant update from the previous version, which was in the 23.x range.

To update LM Studio;

Go to "Check for updates" (Click the house icon and dlook for it right next to the house icon)

If an update is available, follow the instructions to install it

Step 2: Choose the Right Model

For this setup, you'll want to use the following model:

lmstudio-community/Meta-Llama-3.1-8B-Instruct-GGUF

Step 3: Select the Correct Preset

After updating, it's crucial to choose the right preset. In the server settings:

Look for the preset dropdown
Select "LLAMA 3 V2"

This preset is specifically designed for the new Llama 3 model we're using.

Step 4: Adjust Context Length

The context length can be set to 8000. You have two options for this:

Change it directly in the LM Studio interface
Leave it as is, as the programs I've written can adjust this programmatically based on what the software needs

Step 5: GPU Acceleration

My preference is to set GPU acceleration to max. This will significantly speed up the writing process. You can adjust this in the server settings.

Step 6: Add Crucial System Strings

This step is vitally important. In your system strings, you need to add two specific tags. Without these, you might encounter numerous errors in Private Content Wizard. Add the following:

These tags help the AI understand when to start and stop, and they're essential for following instructions correctly.

Additional Notes on Private Content Wizard (PCW)

The latest updates to PCW have focused on self-correction and improvement. The AI now analyzes its own content and makes corrections, resulting in higher quality output with minimal editing required.
The DIY module remains customizable, allowing users to provide their own instructions for content production.
All other modules have been optimized for extensive self-correction.

Private Content Wizard Update

The latest version of Private Content Wizard is 1.4. While no new models have been added recently, the core focus has been on optimizing PCW to work seamlessly with the latest Llama model.
