Hey folks! Welcome to this quick tutorial on configuring the settings for the new LM Studio update. Let's dive right in and get your server ready for the latest version of Private Content Wizard.
First things first, make sure you're running the latest version of LM Studio. The current version you should be using is 0.2.31. This is a significant update from the previous version, which was in the 23.x range.
To update LM Studio;
Go to "Check for updates" (Click the house icon and dlook for it right next to the house icon)
If an update is available, follow the instructions to install it
For this setup, you'll want to use the following model:
lmstudio-community/Meta-Llama-3.1-8B-Instruct-GGUF
After updating, it's crucial to choose the right preset. In the server settings:
This preset is specifically designed for the new Llama 3 model we're using.
The context length can be set to 8000. You have two options for this:
My preference is to set GPU acceleration to max. This will significantly speed up the writing process. You can adjust this in the server settings.
This step is vitally important. In your system strings, you need to add two specific tags. Without these, you might encounter numerous errors in Private Content Wizard. Add the following:

These tags help the AI understand when to start and stop, and they're essential for following instructions correctly.
The latest version of Private Content Wizard is 1.4. While no new models have been added recently, the core focus has been on optimizing PCW to work seamlessly with the latest Llama model.
With these settings in place, you should find that most of the content created is extremely usable. The days of hit-and-miss content generation are largely behind us, thanks to these optimizations.
Remember, the goal is to reach a point where the final outputs of PCW.
